“Happy Wife, Happy Life” those are the words I would always hear as advice the first time I got married. So no matter how bad things were going, as long as she was happy, I was suppose to have a “happy life”. I let her win every conversation, and tell her she was always right. You still hear people give this advice and some women proudly announce how “whipped” her mate/husband has become.

I really hated this saying when I got back into dating. Men, never stop being who you are, especially not for a woman. Your woman deserves the real you. If she’s wrong, tell her you disagree. You don’t need to yell – discuss. She wants to be right but she needs an equal partner. Be happy together. Your life is not to make only one of you happy. Speak up…give your opinion…communicate!

  1. I am a woman and I hate it when my Husband says “Happy Wife, Happy Life”. It feels almost like a cop out to not discuss issues or as if I’m right about everything and unwilling to compromise. Being communicative with your spouse makes a difference, not this appeasing crap that statement alludes to.

  2. Communication is key. I definitely do not want a partner that is submissive. Be my equal, give me your opinions, express yourself!
